In my opinion, I believe living in a big city would be beneficial for me in my economic and social life. Throughout society and life the evidence to support my viewpoint is very persuasive. Everywhere in all countries there are small towns and big cities. People like big cities so they can find all facilities there. There are also people who like small towns. I am going to write about the similarities and differences between a small town and a big city. Some people prefer to live in a small town whilst others prefer to live in a big city.
Which place would I prefer to live in? Living in big cities or small towns both have advantages and disadvantages to their location. Convenience is one of the most beneficial factors to living in a big city. Larger cities are more industrial and advanced and everything can be found with the least effort and time. Big cities also usually have better schools and universities than a small town. This gives people a better chance at a higher and more rounded education that can prepare them for the workplace, large cities have more opportunities specially when it comes to careers as you are more likely to find higher paying jobs so consequently live a more comfortable lifestyle.
The big cities also offer a multicultural aspect compared to small towns, you will find people from all over the globe that have come to big cities and open restaurants and shops. A lot of young adults generally prefer to live in a big city as there is more to do, more shops, bars, restaurants, theatres and museums especially if they have grown up in a smaller town, after all, big cities never sleep. However, there are some values in a small town that are just as or even more important and more difficult to achieve in a big city such as nature and the warmth and comfort of humanity.
The quality of life is easier and less expensive. If you want to live in one you must sacrifice the other, live in a calm and quiet and pollution free environment or the busy, entertaining and never sleeping city? I, personally, like living in a smaller town somewhere not too far from a larger city so I can have if and when I want the best of both worlds. There is a lot of disadvantages in living in a big city. In a big city, you have to worry about crime. In a small town, you don? t have to worry about getting robbed. There is also a problem with pollution. Exhaust fumes from cars, trucks, and buses create health problems for people living in a big city. In a big city, there are higher rates of asthma and other respiratory problems.
In a small town, the air is much cleaner and there are more wide open space so that pollution doesn? t build up. Some people prefer big cities over small towns because there is more excitement there. In a small town, there is not even a movie theatre. Small town life can be so boring that some people would go to the big city just to have fun. In a big city, there are more job opportunities then there are in a small town. When a young person graduates college to look for a job, he or she would have to move to a big city for more job opportunities.
Some people prefer a small town over a big city because a small town is a better place to raise a family. Small towns provide better schools, a cleaner…. It´s better to grow up in a big city than in a small town, because there are many advantages for children in big cities, as have a better education, have more opportunities, have a good quality of life, plus almost all of the places that children want to go are not far and finally children get more motivated and responsible. The on-going debate of living in the city vs.
Being able to meet your needs conveniently and to travel in a car less is what makes the city a lot easier to live in. Therefore, Living in the city is much more beneficial than living in the rural areas. When I think of a city I think of New York. I've been there and I could never imagine living there. It was terrible! I found one major reason that makes a city better than a small town; there's way more job opportunities. The city has so much more going than a small town. In my hometown there's a Walmart, a couple local restaurants, and stores. Since a city sees more people and traffic, there's obviously going to be way more opportunities, financially and education wise.
With a big city having more people and what not, there's bound to be more crime committed through out the area. There's more chances to get away with a crime in a city with more people. In a small town, everyone knows everyone and you're going to get caught so people don't even risk it.
